Background
Mexico City to Miami
Dr Nicolaievsky earned his dental degree at the Universidad Tecnológica de México (UNITEC) in Mexico City in 1987, and returned there as Associate Professor from 1993 to 2000. His specialty training was completed at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital between 1988 and 1993 — a residency in dental anesthesiology followed by oral and maxillofacial surgery, where he served as Chief Resident.
He has practiced in Miami since, in partnership with Dr Jeffrey Blum at Blum-Nico Oral Surgery Associates, with offices in Aventura and Miami Beach. In March 2022 the practice joined the ZAGA Centers network and became Miami’s certified center of excellence for zygomatic implant treatment.
The two were the first oral surgeons in South Florida to place dental implants using X-Guide dynamic 3D navigation. That work became the Navigation Training Center, and eventually the book Dynamic Navigation in Implant Dentistry, published by Quintessence in 2026.

The practice covers the full range of oral and maxillofacial surgery. It is also Miami’s certified ZAGA Center for zygomatic implant treatment, and it was the first in South Florida to place dental implants under X-Guide dynamic 3D navigation.
Appointments, insurance and patient paperwork are handled by the practice. This site is Dr Nicolaievsky’s own — his teaching, his writing, and the cases colleagues send him.
